UP in 3D

We picked up Emily, and headed for lunch (outside), and to see the movie UP in 3D. The boys loved it, and this was the 1st movie Lawson sat through it's entirety.
Lincoln really wants to see Night at the Museum, anyone here in Bloggerworld seen it yet??

Pine Cones

Lincoln and his buddy, Jaden.
Last night at the spray area fountains.
Lincoln, Jaden, and Lawson were collecting berries and pinecones, then unbeknown to us, they were selling the pinecones to unsuspecting customers for a quarter!

Side View

The side view of The Arbor.
YES, Ron made this!!!

The Arbor

Stage ONE of our total front yard makeover: The Arbor
Ron chose to spend his birthday weekend designing and constructing this arbor, from yes scratch!! It was quite the weekend project. And he only busted one water line! The arch will soon have vines and flowers growing on it, and there will be a rock walkway through the arbor.

But for now, the 1st stage is done.

Since we have moved into this house 3 yrs ago, we have had a total of 3 rounds of grass put in. Nothing stays. It's either that there is just too much shade from the 2 large tree's, or it's because the kids and dogs and neighbors kids and dogs have trampled it.... So, we decided instead of more grass, or our current "dirt" front yard, that we will have the entire yard landscaped.

Stay tune for more front yard updates...

He Writes His Name!!

Lawson, at 3 yrs old, has been writing his name for about a month now. He has a very early interest in spelling, reading, writing, etc... He can actually write several words now including Dad and Mom. He can read some sight words (no, stop, etc...).
He is going to love love love going to his 2 day a week preschool come Fall time.

game boy buddy

This is John Luke, and he is Lincoln's "game boy buddy". He comes over, and they play Gameboys. They trade games, and help each other with tricks, etc...
Here they are hanging out in the fort just playing...

Mommy gets a behavior chart...

Today, Lincoln taped a behavior chart on my room door.
It is a good mommy/bad mommy chart. So far he has only given me smiley faces.
Wonder how I will do???
I need to find out what kind of reward I'm working towards...

He is sooo my kid.

Our 1st Zuchini from our garden

Boys love picking the veggies from our (Huge) garden. Here is our 1st zucchini of the year. Baking lots of zucchini bread... We are going to have tons of zucchini this year: I have made fritters, bread, zucchini pie... It's been fun.

Dirt, Dirt, and more Dirt

Typical Boy Thing:
Boy's building a "dirt volcano" in front yard...
While Daddy is working on a project.
Hours of fun.

It seems as if we already have a picture just like this. Same location, maybe even same clothes??? I took Ron out last night for his Birthday. We went to Sonoma Grill in Parker Square, one of our favorites. The boys were next door at Adventure Kids. Tonight I'm cooking for him!!! And the boys want to go get him an ice cream cake from Culvers.

Arbor

It's Daddy's birthday today.
He chooses to spend the day building a wooden garden arbor.
He has a couple of helpers out there!! When finished, will post pictures..

Wild Flowers

Lawson stopped on the side of the road today to look at some cows.
While he was there, he picked me this pretty wild flower bouquet!!

Monkeying Around

Lincoln, just hanging out in one of our crepe myrtles. He's so sweet. Wish all of you could get to know him!
His last day ever of preschool was today, which is bittersweet. I know he will miss his teachers and friends. But on the other hand, he is just filled with excitement about Kindergarten. And mostly excited about taking the Bus!

We are looking forward to a fun filled summer. The boys won't be missing a beat. I have tons of things planned for them!! Lincoln will be in piano lessons and swim lessons (Win Kids). Lawson will be in Soccer Tots. We have started a playgroup which will meet once a week (with all 3 and 5 yr olds...). They will be doing a couple of summer camps at Win Kids, and possibly the YMCA, they will be going to a couple of Vacation Bible School's, and last but not least.... Swimming at the CAC (Flower Mound Community Pool). In June we will go to Houston for Matthew's graduation, and in July Ron and I will go on the Reunion cruise.

The Class Picture

Lincoln's Pre-K Class Picture..
He's the cute one on the left, bottom row.
He is going to miss his classmates/teachers.
None of these friends will go to his same elementary school.
But hopefully we will still run into each other!

Lawson was mommy's big helper throughout the day.
He was so excited to help me get everything ready. "What can I do now Mommy??"
The boys loved having their friends over to play.
Success.

The Toppings!!

Ice Cream Party

The boys and I decided to throw an ice cream Party.... For all the kiddo's in the neighborhood. The boys can barely wait until 4:00 when their friends will be coming over...

They designed, colored, and delivered these invitations. Everyone will bring a topping, I'll let you know how it goes!

Kids say the Funniest Things

Lincoln (age 5) was running back and forth, back and forth, back and forth. When I asked him what he was doing he that he was "running for president".
hmmmm I'm thinking that during the whole election process recently, when he was talking about McCain and Obama running for president, in his little mind he saw them actually "running...".

Lawson (age 3) says out of the blue... "Mommy they have stop signs, so why don't they have Go signs?"

Lincoln tells me at dinner tonight, "Mommy I love you to the moon and back, to China and back, and to the grocery store and back"... lol

Lawson gets the words marshmallow and mushrooms confused. So, he says funny things like he wants marshmallows on his pizza and mushrooms on his ice cream.

Kids are hilarious. I laugh all day long at them... I realized that I need to start writing more of these things down.

Our Litte Silly One, playing playdoh

Today was a day full of P's.
Piano lessons, playgroup, playdoh, then Pizza!

Sisters

HAPPY BIRTHDAY (Belated) to both of my sisters...One older and one younger. Both have May birthdays.
My two sisters are 2 of the most intelligent females that I know (I'm not sure what happened to me...)
It was fun growing up with 3 girls and 1 boy in our family.... Still not sure how Mom had 4 kids, but she was like 20 years younger than me!! (she became a Grandmother at MY age...)

Here are a few pictures I swiped from my Moms Blog of us girls growing up.

Happy B-day Sue and Jen!!!

I downloaded like 1,000 Florida Vacation pictures over there on FlickR. Look on the left of this blog, you will see a funny rotating picture thing... click on it and you should figure it out from there.

Coffee and Traveling

I love how my husband lets me sleep in (a bit) on the weekends, and brings me my coffee in bed. That helps me have a great start to the day.

On another note, we as a family are adjusting (????) to having Ron working a traveling job. It's a very different lifestyle than what we have been accustomed to. Any tips/advice welcomed from other families with traveling Daddies.

pre-K Grad

Next week, Lincoln is having Pre-K graduation.
We are looking forward to watching him "graduate".
Of course, he is way excited about starting Kindergarten in a couple of months
(I'm not so excited...)

Spike

Seriously, is this my Baby???
I think he grew up when I wasn't looking.
Do all boys love when Mommy "spikes" their hair, or is it just mine??

Here are some pictures from tonights out front playtime...
(PS that 2nd from last picture of Lincoln is a total "Aldo" pose, is it not???)

Day Trip

Ron took the boys on a day trip (1.5 hrs away) to Dinosaur Valley State Park in Glen Rose. Ron's friend, Chad, went along as well with his 2 kids. Apparantly they had a fun time hiking, swimming, fishing, bbq, etc...
I think we may go back to camp sometime.

More info on park (click on this)

Eastward-dipping limestones, sandstones, and mudstones, deposited from approximately 113 million years ago along the shorelines of an ancient sea, form the geological setting for the park area. Over the last million years or so, these layered formations have been dissected and sculpted by the Paluxy River which, in many places, has cut down to resistant beds and planed off sizable exposures of rock in the river bottom.

Here are some pictures that Chad took:
(Lincoln is on right and Jaden on left... they look alike here)
